I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since Kate and I set off to live out our dream of a cross-country girls trip!
For new readers, this was originally one of Kate’s goals before she turned 30, and when we decided to take on this journey together, we had zero money and really didn’t know how it could all possibly work. But with little responsibility and a lot of free time (ha!) we knew life would only become more complicated and that we simply could not live out our twenties without exploring America on the open road. It HAD to happen. With the help of seriously amazing sponsors in each of our destinations along the way, it miraculously came together and we were able to spend 3 weeks driving from Los Angeles to Charleston (and 3 days driving back)! We stayed in 5 star hotels, ranches, Motel 6s, a haunted former confederate hospital and one teepee. Ate at award-winning restaurants, fruit stands and Olive Gardens. It was hilarious, frustrating, deeply inspiring. Some of my favorite photos from the journey:
Each of the above images link to posts, and I’ve also created a nifty little button on my sidebar where you can view the full roadtrip stories together.
In related news, I’m really excited to say there’s another road trip in the future!
It will not be quite so epic as the above, but this summer the fiance, pups and I will driving halfway across the country to visit his family and explore more parts of our beautiful country that we’ve never seen. We’ll stargaze in Montana, camp in Yellowstone, float on the lake in the north woods of Wisconsin, take pictures of sunflower fields and maybe even eat some pie. I’m pretty excited. Stay tuned!
