We’re back from Greece! Did this summer go by as quickly for you as it did for us? It sure felt like our busiest one yet. And I do not mean that in a fun way!
After the wedding, what we could see of summer from our desks raced past and by the end of it we were both in extreme need of a holiday. From super-stressed 15+ hour days to floating in an endless sea of blue, for two blissful weeks we just got to BE. Wandering those mazes of gorgeous white alleyways, lingering in restaurants for hours (I love the way people eat in Europe), and lapping up The Vacationers, this trip was everything we needed.
When we left it was summer and when we returned it was fall. Not fall temperature, because it’s still 100+ degrees here, but there’s a certain shift in the leaves and I swear, a minuscule chill in the air. September has always been one of my favorite months because I usually feel inspired to get back into a routine. But not this year, or at least, not yet!
Life is chugging along like usual, yet since returning from Greece it’s like all my senses have reset and nothing can kick this bum into high gear mode if it tried. (So I’m not even trying.) I’m talking Monday morning baths and a “can’t touch this” attitude when it comes to anything remotely stressful. Did you know it’s possible to get everything done you need to without being stressed? It’s amazing. More on this later once I figure out exactly what it is. I want to enjoy this stillness inside for as long as I can– the absence of urgency is a beautiful thing, and the mental shift is welcomed. Hello new Fall.
I’ll write more about the islands we visited when I post more pics– look for titles such as “paros i love you”, “vacations are funny” and “who knew sunsets could turn normal people so crazy”. xx
